Boetti, Lavoro Postale / Postal Work, 1970.
Boetti was fascinated by everyday materials and common object that he could use as a form of art. He was also fascinated by mathematics and rules.
In this work Alighiero used two simple elements: envelopes and stamps. The 6 letters were sent to Gianenzo Sperone, his dealer. Boetti choose 3 stamps of 3 different colours and displayed them in all the possible permutations / combinations.
Such a brilliant, playful and minimalist piece!
