An early work by Alighiero Boetti “Ping Pong”, made in 1966.
This piece was exhibited in Boetti’s first one man show in Turin in 1967 at Galleria Stein. Boetti would always be fascineted by the theme of the “double” and Ping Pong appears to be his first dyptich on this concept.
“The work produces a visual oscillation going back and forward, and I think that back and forward goes thrououth Boetti’s work especially when hw thinks about relationships of order and disorder” Mark Godfrey, curator of Boetti’s retrospective Game Plan at Tate Modern in London.
